You won't need to exhaustively generate all potential keys, since I'm assuming the number of valid keys by your tests is probably multiple orders of magnitude more than the number of keys required. I know this is not the most secure method, but I'm not really worried about piracy or people sharing codes. So say I'd like to generate 10 new serial numbers - I could run it and it would populate a sheet with 10 new serial numbers that meet the rules. But I'm wondering if it's possible to have Excel generate the numbers for me? I have created a sheet that lets me plug in a number, and it will run the checks and tell me if it's valid. Rule #2 would check if the difference between two numbers is less than the sum of two other numbers. Rule #1 would check if the first number is divisible by a certain number My serial numbers consist of four 3-digit numbers. My software will run a series of checks to see if the number is valid before it will load. I have come up with a set of mathematical rules to check if the serial number is valid, but I'm looking for a way to generate the numbers in Excel so I can give everyone a unique number without having to manually come up with them. I'm trying to create a list of unique serial numbers for some software I'll be releasing. They are identifiable with a special user flair.Ī community since MaAsking a question?
